Full-time/Part-time, remote iOS Developer position for The App Chefs.

Candidate must be based in or near Barranquilla, Colombia.


We are a digital agency based in Guadalajara, Mexico. We're looking for junior and mid-level iOS Developers in Barranquilla, Colombia with part of full-time availability to help out on overflow iOS Development projects we have with our clients in the US.

Almost all of our team is in Latin America - Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil. Remote working environments are what we prefer and we also have a private office space in Guadalajara that we work out of and a co-working space in Barranquilla, Colombia.

You will be working with our Lead iOS Developer in Barranquilla and have very detailed requirements and guidelines for each project. We follow a SCRUM / Agile Project Management system and manage everything through a custom format on Trello. This means we define weekly Sprints for each goal of the project, utilize Story Points to define difficulty, and we have the entire team meets for a 10-15 minute standup each day to update:
-What you did yesterday
-What your focus is for today
-Any blockers you may have

Skills most required:

  • Expert-level knowledge of Objective C and Swift.
  • Xcode, Cocoapods, and other iOS frameworks.
  • Experience taking start-to-finish technical ownership of features and/or applications from inception to delivery on at least one project.
  • Working understanding of Agile software engineering processes and methodologies; experience collaborating in an Agile environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must have published iPhone and/or iPad applications on App Store
  • 3+ years of overall software development experience and at least 2+ years with iOS software development. Experience with Java/Android SDK a big plus.
  • Plus to have experience in web technologies (i.e. HTML, CSS and JavaScript) and implementation of Web Views within iOS apps.
  • Extensive hands-on experience of creating custom UI controls, designing protocols, implementing delegate interfaces, and performance optimization.
  • Big plus to have Web Services implementation experience, and experience consuming web services in mobile apps.

We want to start on a trial basis (20 hours a week for 2-3 months) with the right candidate. If things work out, we will make a proposal for on-going work to continue working with our team on a full-time basis.
